This is the conversation from a MedApp user trying to get into university via UCAS extra. The applicant went on to get an interview but was unfortunately rejected. Below is ‘copy/paste’ of all the emails which were exchanged. It certainly highlights the informal nature of admissions staff at university. Many thanks for this.
Keele medical school entered extra during 2005 application and closed 6 days later, well before most people had heard about it. The date of the first email was 04 March 2005.Dear Sir/Madam
I would like to enquire about applying to the medicine course at Keele University.
Firstly I was wondering if there are any places still available at the university. My careers tutor told me that there may be few places available.
Secondly I had an interview at Manchester University where I was unsuccessful. Does this mean that I am not allowed to apply to keele university for medicine as I have been rejected at Manchester University following interview as the two universities are linked.

Thank you for your email regarding entry to Keele University School of Medicine.
It does not matter if you have been rejected from Manchester University because although we are closely affiliated we have seperate course codes therefore it is two seperate applications.
Due to an increase in numbers we may have a few places available through an informal type of UCAS Extra. Could you please confirm whther or not you have heard from all of your institutions (Medicine or non medicine courses).

I have had two interviews from Manchester and Liverpool universities and was unsuccessful at both. My four medicine choices have all been rejected. I have only made four choices and so I have heard from all the universities.
